4 Step Lead Gen Guide

Howdy…so you want to generate leads?

Our team has over 7 years of combined experience in lead generation, both online and offline.

For this short guide, we’ll only focus on online methods that have generated a lot of results for our clients.

  1. Identify Your Target Audience

Before you begin setting up an ad campaign, you need to identify your target audience. If you have data from your previous marketing efforts, you can use that data to help determine who you want to show your ads to.

Identifying your target audience will save you a lot of money when running ads. For instance, let’s say you are running ads for a tree service company and your ads are being shown to people who live in an apartment, don’t own a home, or the area has very little trees? Though these people may be considering getting a home, or curious for a friend or family this would not be a good approach for your business as you want to ensure each dollar spent is accounted for.

  2. Determine the value each potential customer has to your business.

This is something a lot of businesses miss and end up lost in their budget. For you to make sense of your ad budget you need to know what each customer is worth. If you provide a service that is a onetime transaction vs a service that requires consistent service. For instance, a landscaping company vs. a tree removal company.

A landscaping company that provides great service for its client will be working on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis for that client and each visit will have a service fee. A tree removal company that has to remove a tree from a person’s home may not be needed after that interaction as much.

   3. Create a landing page that converts.

This is a big one. As you know we are experts when it comes to creating landing pages that convert at high percentages.

When creating your landing page be sure not to send people to your home page. You want to send people to a landing page that is specific to the ad that you showing them. For instance, if you have a cleaning company showing an ad for cleaning services you don’t want to send people to a page that talks about the history of the company. Further, you don’t want to send people to a page that doesn’t easily allow them to convert by calling or filling out a contact form.

  4. Create an ad campaign that’s centered around the theme of your ad promotion and landing page.

You’ll want to do keyword research to know what keywords drive people to take action around your product or service. After testing your ads you can optimize them for the exact keywords that have proven to get conversions and then scale your campaign.
